As a certified coach and a member of the international coaching federation, James provides 3 main types of coaching service through universities and business schools such as Cambridge Judge, Warwick Business School, Cranfield University, UCD Smurfit, University of Birmingham, Durham University and Bayes Business School. James has successfully transformed his own career and can help students find their 'sweet spot', (the perfect alignment of their passions, strengths and experiences), so that they can find their ideal role.

1. Consulting Career Coaching 

James conducts 1-2-1 sessions for students and alumni, either online or in-person and for up to 60 minutes each. Each session is focussed on the goals of the individual and actions needed to develop and to progress their consulting career strategy.

Sessions can include:

  • Is consulting right for me?

  • What type of consulting should I consider?

  • How feasible is it and how do I transition into consulting?

  • What contingency plans should I have?

  • Which sectors and companies could be a good fit? 

  • Feedback on CVs, LinkedIn, elevator pitch, networking and career plans.

  • What actions should I to maximise my chances of success.

2. Consulting Interview Preparation 

James conducts 1-2-1 and small group sessions either online and in-person to help candidates prepare for behaviour-based and case interviews. Specific feedback and actions for improvement are provided to each candidate.

Below are examples of case interviews that James can facilitate:

  • Candidate-led Case Interviews (eg Bain, Deloitte, and Accenture)

  • Interviewer-led Case Interviews (eg McKinsey)

  • BCG Online Case Interviews (Online chatbot case interview with a recorded recommendation at the end)

  • Case Maths, Charts and Estimations (eg Accenture market sizing, Deloitte numerical reasoning, and McKinsey problem solving tests)

  • Case Structuring Drills

3. Executive Coaching 

James specialises in helping experienced professionals in the following situations and can support them online or in-person:

  • Leaders hoping to take their first tactical or strategic leadership role

  • People making an international move
